DAVID BRENT: LIFE ON THE ROAD
Coming to UK & Ireland cinemas August 19, 2016
DAVID BRENT: LIFE ON THE ROAD sees the highly anticipated big screen debut of one of comedy’s best-loved characters, David Brent (Ricky Gervais). The film catches up with Brent twelve years on from the BBC mockumentary ‘The Office’ to find he is now a travelling salesman with Lavichem, a cleaning and ladies’ personal hygiene products company. However, he hasn’t given up on his dream of rock stardom and is about to embark on a self-financed UK tour with his band, ‘Foregone Conclusion’.
Assembling a group of session musicians who are just in it for the money, and talented rapper Dom (Ben Bailey Smith) in an attempt to gain street cred, Brent cashes in his pensions and takes unpaid leave in a bid to turn his dream into reality. Get ready to join David Brent on the road as he takes one last shot at fame and fortune.
DAVID BRENT: LIFE ON THE ROAD is written, directed by and stars Ricky Gervais, with original music and lyrics by Gervais, musical arrangement by Andy Burrows (Razorlight, We Are Scientists) and raps by Ben Bailey Smith.

Drinks will be on me, in me.
These songs are genius. If he switched the comic lyrics they'd be great songs.
Love it how the cant' find a road sign for Widnes :-D
0:50 when you go car meets but you got a black box
Just watched this fantastic film again and can't get the brilliant songs out of my head. Just gone and bought the CD on the back of it.
Poetry on the level of Wordsworth!
Dave, we love you!
We love it !
My favorite Rolling Stones song
Thing is if Harry Styles released this. It would get rave reviews
I’m David Brent nice to meet me
It easily could've been Oasis song

Why is this good, great job rick
HE SAID IPSWICH OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for mentioning our small town ! What a treat
Very disappointed he didn't manage to fit Yeovil in there somewhere...
always gay songs lol
underneath it all it's actually a bloody good song! ....i'll never get away with playing it in the car though
I used to work like that. But, instead of driving, I travelled on bus, all around the city waiting for my customers call. I feel sympathy for David Brent.
Movie wasn't great, but was enjoyable, laugh out loud in parts, had it's moments, the song's were genius! In my opinion the movie was lacking (because of Merchants absence or not) with the characters and dialogue of the supporting cast. In the office Brent was the boss and although highly cringe inducing was not a bad bloke and people seemed to sort of like him, but knew he was a bullshitter, my point is they indulged him. His authority as being boss simply gave him a constant "get out" clause where he could simply say "carry on....." and walk away from any dodgy situation.Although he wound people up nobody HATED him. Unfortunately it felt like in this film apart from his fawning office buddy and love interest EVERYBODY seemed to REALLY hate him, for not much reason, I feel like they cranked it up to the max as they thought the supporting cast would have to cram in as much objection as possible to Brent to convey the point he was annoying and to me it was almost vitriolic in parts! They didn't have to do this as EVERYBODY that went to see it (there was 2 of us in my local cinema) knew EXACTLY who Brent was. As the guy paying for the whole tour the script writer had that ace up their sleeve (where Brent was a fool, but was still boss) and tossed it away in favour of making everyone hate him. I don't know but it kind of reminded me of when in some mothers do ave em Frank has to meet someone for an interview or something and although a bit simple after 2 or 3 silly answers the antagonist just goes OTT in respect that they simply HATE poor Frank for being a bit different. I felt really sorry for David throughout the film and would rather have seen him clumsily boss it over his bandmates in his own inimitable way rather than being outcast. In summing up, as TV show spin off movies go it was really rather good, but as usual the protagonists strengths were swamped in the studios or producers desire to please "new" Brent fans (1 p.c of paying UK audience or probably America) and the script was far too mean. In my opinion Gervais aimed to make the audience "feel" for David and ended up making us "feel sorry" for him instead. I'd rather have left the cinema just laughing at what a plonker he was than worrying if he'd throw the rope up cos everyone is so illogically horrible to him. 6.5 out of 10 Now for some crack.
Miss your Humanity show Ricky
god i feel so sorry for him....... it's a fucking good film!
This is one of the David Brent songs I legitimately enjoy listening to XD
I like this song
One thing is pretty clear to me: If it REALLY was composed and performed by a real person as David Brent is shown in the doc, there would be no way for him get successful and known and listened by anyone! His Lyrics could be one by one written by the Ramones, for an example, and Dude, Ramones has changed so many lives over the globe....! Mine is between them, of course! Cheers from Brazil!
I am the 2000 one that likes this video! :D Such a honor!!!
Rock and Roll done right

This song is way tooooo short!! Love Brent! lol
THE first (and last) time "cupholder" has been used in a rock song. Genius.
"Hard shoulder? Coffee holder!" Story of my life
Why the name David Brent? Is it a joke or sketch or just his music name? Forgive my stupidity but I've never came across this til now

This is a music video for the movie David Brent: Life On The Road, where Ricky Gervais plays a character called David Brent. He also previously played this same character on a show called The Office.
Genius.
Can't wait to be able to buy this album!
Even though it's a comedy song, it's very good.
Nothing vicious!
Lavichem's finest
Anyone know what brand shoe he is wearing at 0:48?
Will be illegally downloading the movie the moment it releases.

Great track, and excellent road safety advice in one!

Ur a fucking genius 😀
Much better than Texas and I think they knew that even back then
Dont know why reminds me of Rockin In The Free World by Neil Young.
Iggy Pop-esque

"foot down to the floor!.. 70 mph! but no more"
The chilled-out entertainer is back... So looking forward to this movie :)
gotta be film of 2016
hard shoulder? coffee holder
Recycled jokes, looks shit, unrealistic and forced.
Gervais is a great comedian but I feel that he's stopped taking risks (see his interview with Larry David for more context).
"70 miles an hour but NO MORE" hahaha
The lyrics "foot down to the floor 70 miles an hour and no more (with the finger nod)" make the song hilarious. Anything else is a bonus.
If only Mr. Brent read his comments, specifically this one. After ten tries I finally wrote my magnum opus. It's titled "Jack And Dolores Went Into The Forest, Searching For Donuts And Holes; Along Came A Trucker Who Promised To...". You can find it at Amazon, just search for "Jack and Dolores." It's quirky black humor like The Restraint Of Beasts by Magnus Mills. It's Sometimes A Great Notion meets 1984 meets Brave New World. It's Ignatius Jacques Reilly dreaming electric sheep. If you've read this far you'll love it. I'm T.P. "Pat" Jaques, the author, and I approve this comment.
Put some serious lyrics with the soundtrack and you'd have a hit Once again you're a legend Rick.and David is on top of the list BTW hurry up and come to oz !
My favourite twat!

Lady Gypsy was the bomb, I'm going to watch it again now!
I actually live near Slough. And I have a boring office job. And I have to go to bed now and go to this job in the morning. And it's pissing with rain. I'll be thinking of this song on my way in tomorrow, thanks Ricky ☺
too much hype - kinda tired of it now - this movie is like giving birth to a baby that two weeks late
Hopefully better than Gervais' other movies. Seems like he can't transform his humour from series to movies.
fucking brilliant
so that's...yeh.... : [
Karl your an idiot. play a record
was that sung by a robot?
"70 miles an hour but no more!" This song fucking rules. And I'm not even being the least bit sarcastic. Where are all the Seona Dancing fans out there?

Fuckin hell did you get Noel Gallagher to do some vocal training but then he couldn't be bothered after 1 lesson or what?
Treś Oasis.
Best song ever :)
I love how he provides a visual for each lyric XD
Ha! David Brent is back. Funny but cringe worthy all at the same time.

He has, but from his latest content, you wouldn't know it. It looks like he has lost his mind.
"foot down to the floor... 70 mph! but no more"
thanks for making me SMILE :) xxxx
right now, 4 ppl are against tampon dispensers.
100 mph to 70 mph. Very p.c.
I fucking love Ricky Gervais, he is brilliant!
'He went home to get it'
Even though this is a comedy, and the songs contain humorous lyrics....I think they are very good most of them. Especially the song "Slough"which has this melancholic vibe going. Truly great tracks from Ricky 🙌
