A few years ago I tried making transparent wood and it kind of worked. The pieces that I made were somewhat okay, but I was never really happy with the result.
I finally decided to try it again though!

Is there any case in which transparent wood would be preferable to something like plexiglass? To me it seems like they accomplished mostly the same thing, but maybe there's some Niche application I'm not thinking of. Is one perhaps cheaper to produce?

Okay so I have a question that I've been thinking about, so obviously pressure can turn liquids into solids, and heat can turn solids into liquids. Could pressurize something to where the liquid inside would freeze, but then you also raise the temperature to the point where it would normally be boiling while it remained a solid because of the pressure.
